Privacy
What we collect, why, who processes it, and how to get it deleted. Short version: your media is private, we never sell it, and you can delete it at any time.
1. What we collect
- Your email address, so you can sign in and we can reach you.
- The photos and videos you upload, and the results we generate for you.
- Your credit balance, your plan, and a record of each swap (date, status, cost).
- Payment details held by Stripe: we see the subscription status and the last digits, never the full card number.
- Basic technical data needed to run and protect the site, including the signals Cloudflare Turnstile uses to tell a person from a bot.
- A fingerprint of your email address (a one-way hash, never the address itself), kept even after your account is closed, so the free swap stays one per person.
2. Why we use it
We do not sell your data. We do not use your media to train AI models, and we do not show it to anyone outside the providers in section 3.
- To deliver the service you asked for: storing your files and generating your results.
- To bill correctly and prevent a credit being spent twice.
- To stop abuse — bots, mass sign-ups, and content that breaks our terms.
- To answer your emails.
3. Who processes your data
A few providers run parts of VidSwapr for us: hosting and file storage, the database, face generation, payments, email, and usage statistics. They use your data only to do that job.
4. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. You can delete any file yourself from the app at any time.
We answer every request within thirty days. If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
5. Cookies and measurement
We use only what the site needs to work: a cookie that keeps you signed in, and a small local entry that remembers your language. No advertising cookies, and nothing that follows you to other sites.
We do measure how VidSwapr itself is used — which steps people reach, which swaps succeed, what they cost us — with PostHog. It is set up to store nothing at all in your browser: no cookie, no local entry. That is why you are never asked to accept cookies here. We never send it your photos, your videos, or what you type into the avatar generator.
PostHog also records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, errors — so we can see where the site gets in your way. In these recordings, your photos and videos are replaced by grey boxes, your email address and file names are hidden, and nothing you type is kept.
6. Children
VidSwapr is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly keep data about a child. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
7. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
